HELP!

Alright, this isn't one of my strong points, asking for help that is. So this is a big step for me to blast it out there in blog-land.

I really had a heart to heart with myself about getting bloggy serious, all in my head and well on paper too.

I need and about me page like yesterday. Another one of weaknesses is talking(writing) about myself. I mean I don't want to make myself  sound like a low life nor do I want to make it seem like poop rainbows and glitter. But seriously how cool what that be?!

Here is where my crazy brain takes over and I take a sharp right in to chaos-land.
1. Funny or serious?
2. Pictures or word dominant?
             a. I hate taking pictures of myself!
3. What do I really share in my about me?
Trust me this list looks nice and neat compared to the notes I made. They were everywhere and then I would get to off track I would end up doodling and what not. I have such a scatter brain and get distracted easily.

So lovelies that is where you come in! I NEED YOUR HELP!
At this point I am open to any help, suggestions and ideas.

  I will be eternally grateful!

Happy Humpday!

Girl, you got this!

Okay I have a confession to make, I am really into The Bachelorette/The Bachelor. It's a guilty please of mine, I became obsessed with it a few years ago when I was on maternity leave (don't judge).

Anyway, Des, sweetie pull yourself together. Because honestly girl you got this.
Enter exhibit A:

If you did it (move on) before you can do it again. Breakups are like band-aids they really hurt when you rip them off and eventually the pain will go away.

Here is my one issue with the show, a marriage proposal after 9 weeks, really!? Enter real life scenario, correct me if I'm wrong girls but wouldn't you be like what a totally stalker/freak obsessed with me? If a guy asked you to marry him after only a little over two months? Pump the breaks much!

I mean The Bachelorette/Bachelor isn't really known for their successful relationships.

There are currently three success stories after 17 seasons of The Bachelor and 8 seasons of The Bachelorette.

The Bachelor
1. Season 17: Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici got engaged in November 2012 and are still together!

The Bachelorette
2. Season 1: Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter — STILL TOGETHER, after the finale aired in February 2003 they got married in an ABC special broadcast on December 6, 2003. They now have two children together.

3. Season 7: Ashley Hebert and JP Rosenbaum — STILL TOGETHER after getting engaged on the finale, which aired August 1, 2011. Then wed December 2012.

Honorable Mention
Season 13 of The Bachelor: Jason Mesnick originally proposed to Melissa Rycroft but was still seeing runner-up Molly Malaney. Jason and Molly got married on February 27, 2012 and have a daughter together.

I am not usually a glass half full kind of girl but did you really see this working out for the long run. So put on your big girl pants and get over it. I mean that in the nicest way, really I do!

Have a terrific Tuesday!

My Pinterest Challenge (Week #1)

So last week I put forth a challenge to myself to complete some of the thousands of pins I have. So here's what we're working with.

At Bat:

Alright all I have to say is I wish I would have started this a long time ago. I have naturally curly frizzy hair and it's really dry and dull. And in efforts to improve the overall health of my hair I figured I might as well give 'er a try. It can't really get any worse. I did my first No Poo on Friday of last week and still haven't washed my hair and mainly because it's not even greasy. I couldn't be more excited. I will keep out posted on how it's going in the future.

On Deck:

This is going to be my next project. In efforts to go a little more natural and way less expensive. I thought now would be a good time to try this as well, and I am almost out of hairspray.

In The Hole:

Oh and I got these pretty little fancies in the mail yesterday from Fifth & Mae. I couldn't be more excited.

Happy Friday Lovelies and have a fantastic weekend!

Acute case of FOMO

Hello Lovelies, did you miss me?

Sorry for the absence, I had a little staycation with friends and family. Monday and Tuesday I spent with my Mom and she is all about the family time and a need for the disconnect. She's just old school. I understand she just wants uninterrupted time and I can jive. But with two days of little to now internet use and I am suffering from a severe case of FOMO(fear of missing out) with undertones of PVB(post vacation blues).

I think the moment I got home I dove into the internet like never before, just drooling of over my BlogLovin', Twitter, Instagram and Facebook feed. I had nearly two days to catch up on. I was in panic. I felt like I had missed out on my window to like, RT and comment on things because far too much time had passed. I was no longer in the know and didn't want to be 'that' kid, if you know what I mean?

Then I remember this article I had read. I think that it applies to more than just Instagram but social media in general. I have had this convo with my bestie on more than on occasion.

As you scroll through other's live via IG and FB you get green with envy of this person's vacation or so and so's new pair of killer heels. Is the grass really greener? I mean if I take a look at my IG of FB feed, I guess my life looks pretty peachy too. Do people envy my life?

Of course when you put up the good pics and not the thirty outtakes it took to get just that perfect one, or the day I forgot to put on mascara and had boogers on my pants. No one wants to see that, nor did I share that. Gasp, that would make me human!

So while I sit there and think I and think I am missing out, I got to spend unconnected, uninterrupted with my Mom and little guy. That trade off is pretty priceless and wouldn't trade it for the world.

So before I get all jealous and envious maybe and should just sit, relax and water my own grass. I realized that I have already done some pretty amazing things this summer with plenty more to come.

Sometimes you just have to stop and smell the roses.

Happy Humpday, Lovelies!

High Five For Friday

Happy Friday Lovelies!

1. I know this lil guy is a reoccurring character here, but I just can't get enough of him. He is just amazed by sparklers so I had to show him in all his glory.
2. I got this cute little couple last week and this week I am finding every excuse to use them.
3. We are working on a new funny face. Enter Jax's fish face, let's just say there is room for improvement.
4. So we got a big boy bed on Saturday and of course before I could even put sheets on it, it needed a good jump test and of course why wouldn't it.
5. And after five nights of practice sleeping I think we accomplished the big boy bed.

High Five For Friday!

Have a fabulous weekend!

FWP

I thought since we're close to the weekend and I am in a terrific mood today. I wanted a post with was cheeky and fluffy.
Enter First World Problems (FWP) aka the White Whine, ridiculous complaints of everyday life.

Here is what has been plaguing my week.

Went to lunch with coworkers and the chosen restaurant only had Pepsi products.

Just about the time I am comfortable with the last version.

I just want my messy bun to stay in place.

I just really want to be comfortable and go to sleep.

This happened last night while pouring my first glass.

Everyone has those moments of really stupid complaints and then you're like, REALLY!? This is a problem?!

Happy Friday Eve, lovelies!

Pin Win (and the ones that fall short)

Most people who know me, know that I am kind of what we like to call addicted to Pinterest. I am not ashamed to admit it either.

The other day I realized that I have close to 5,000 pins, what that said I thought I would do a quick browse and see how many I have actually tried to do. The numbers weren't very promising.

I put a but of a challenge in front of myself to complete at least one pin a week, whether it be a recipe, DIY or a project with my little guy.

Well here are are some of the cheers and jeers of my pinning career.

Cheers

So good, it was a hug hit. My family calls this cowboy caviar and goes perfect with tortilla chips.

Perfect for a cold day. I am not one for traditional chili as I had a bad experience growing up so this one was up my alley.

Big hit with the little guy and they were super moist. Yummy with or without a topping.

HUGE success and delicious, perfect for the girls night in!

Seriously so addicting. Family favorite. But then again I am from Wisconsin so cheese and beer are like food groups here.

I made six sets of these last Christmas and not to toot my own horn but friends and family thought I was amazing.

Excellent hack, I think it explains itself.

Perfect activity in and out of the water. Did I mention it only cost $4?!

It's a twofer. A project and toy to play with when done. Win!

Jeers

When mixing putting together in balls prior to baking they were really dry and I had to add extra eggs. With my minor addition they were a success.

There aren't any instructions on how to assemble so I had to add extra baking time to make sure it was cooked all the way through. So it ended up with and extra crisp cheesy crust on top.

Moist but all I could taste was just mustard.

They didn't look as pretty which always make me sad but the actual cupcake part was dry.

Took a lot of experimenting to get the recipe right and finding the right container and to keep it closed. It was a little cumbersome.

Well that about rounds it up but I am sure that I have forgot a few. Kind of sad that out of nearly 5,000 pins and I only completed 14.

What are your pin wins (so I can steal try them) and loses (so I don't waste my time)?

Happy Humpday!

You know you're pretty when...

So sometimes being a parent can be a thankless job, especially being a single parent.
I try my darnedest to teach Jackson honesty and manners.
Please he has down for sure, because he knows he can get things if he says please. We have been working on thank you for what seems like forever. It usually ends in me prompting thank you and Jax repeats it.

So last night I let little man stay up past his bed time to finish a movie. Since we had left over sparklers I told him I had a surprise and to come with me. We went outside and lit the last of the sparklers and you would have thought I was the world's best mom.

A little back story, my favorite part of the day is to come home and change out of my work clothes into comfy clothes, take off my makeup and put my hair up in some sort of fashion. Last night was no different.

As we headed back in the house Jax looks up at he and say "tank kew, momma". My heart melted because I didn't have to say anything to him. I knelt down to give him a kiss as he needed to be rewarded. He put his hand on my cheek and he then tells me "pretty momma". I think I almost cried.

I honestly couldn't have looked worse. But when a two year tells you you're pretty it must me true.

Sorry I just had to share my proud Momma moment from last night.

Have a fab Tuesday!
